Synthetic biology

Systems approach is applied in a concerted effort to develop engineering and design tools for Synthetic Biology. Expected results combine expertise in biocybernetics, synthetic biology, microfluidics, MEMS, and decision support information technologies based on cellular system models. Outcomes are genetic analysis tools, molecular system design principles, optimized synthesis protocols, integrated diagnostic devices and algorithms, and optimization and tuning protocols all aiming to make synthesis of functional single cell organisms faster, more efficient, and reliable. Work is supported by developed in silico modelling tools and the Synthetic biology wet lab wherein developed biotechnologies are validated using standard analytical methods.
